Friday night we all go to the Maris Bldg/Welcome Center after work. We have sandwiches. We sit around and gab until about 8:30 pm. We go home.
Saturday morning we get there around 10:00 am and have coffee. Some one usually brings donuts ("yuk" (Arla's commentary)). People start coming in and grabbing their name tags, bringing in their entries for the Baking Contest and donated items.
Saturday at 11:00 am we have a light lunch of sandwiches and we sit around and gab. Sales table will be open with T-shirts and books.
Saturday at high noon the tours of the buildings begin and run through 2:00 pm. If you aren't taking the tours, you can sit around and gab with the rest of us.
Saturday at 1:00 pm is the Costume Contest. (Stop gabbing and pay attention) There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners. The theme this year is Old West/Pioneer Days.
Saturday at 3:00 pm is the Baking/Cooking/ Canning/ Contest. Again, 1st, 2nd,
and 3rd prize winners. Then we eat it all.
Saturday at 4:30 pm we all walk across the parking lot to the Community Center and have a big BBQ Dinner. It's usually beef and sausage and it's always good! We eat, we gab, we eat some more, and we gab some more.
Saturday at 5:00 pm (you have to be quiet again) We announce the winners of the Contest held earlier and we give out the Distinguished Alumni and Employee Awards. We hand out the door prizes and raffle prizes. Then we go back over to the Maris Bldg. and sit around to gab some more until they throw us out. Sales table will be open with T-shirts and books. At this point we usually have somewhere else already planned to go. Maybe someone's house, maybe a restaurant. We go somewhere that we can sit around and... you guessed it... gab some more.
Sunday morning at 9:00 am we have breakfast at the Maris Bldg.
and then the Memorial Service at 9:45 am.
Sunday at 10:30 am we have the Church Service and Business Meeting afterward at 11:30 am. Come and meet our new Chaplain, Jim Gayle.
Sunday at 12:30 pm we have Lunch at the Community Center. It's usually the BBQ again, but this time they have Turkey or ham... mmmm turkey... and it's wonderful as well.
Sunday after lunch and until they throw us out... we sit around an gab, look at photo albums, take a stroll through the various memorabilia, and - did I mention - sit around and gab. Sales table will be open with T-shirts and books.

There you go... fun for all! The theme is Old West / Pioneer Days. You don't have to dress up, but it's more fun if you do!  by Arla Adams
